1st Blog: QuaranTings

As our nation is under the outbreak of COVID-19, we are required to stay at home and practice social distancing. It is easy to lay back and just eat and sleep all day. While that may sound nice for a couple of days, after doing it for weeks on weeks, it would make you feel sluggish, unproductive, and overwhelmed. In my Freshmen small group, we went through Proverbs 24-26, and talked about rather than being a sluggard who chooses to be lazy and do nothing, we should live life to honor God. I tried to change my bad habits by doing the following:

Create a routine and stick to it!

  • It can even be the little things, like reading a chapter in the Bible the first thing in the morning, or doing ten push ups before you go to bed. Some examples include:

    • Have a good sleeping schedule. I feel so much more productive when I wake up earlier.

    • Exercise!! Using this rare opportunity, I started taking walks with my family and watching exercise videos online.

Make a list of goals you want to accomplish

  • You can treat it as a bucket list of fun things that you have been wanting to try. Some goals of mine include:

    • Making a recipe you’ve been eyeing on

    • Find a DIY off Pintrest you want to make

    • Reread your favorite chapter of the Bible

    • Try a new exercise routine

Reach out to your loved ones

Use this opportunity to reach out to your extended family and friends!! Here is my A2F group having a Zoom A2F Friday :D

Start a bullet journal

  • A bullet journal is like my personal journal. It brings out my creative side while keeping myself on task and providing organization to my week. In the bullet journal, you can track your growing relationship with God, the long term goals you want to accomplish throughout this quarter, the consistency of the habits you are trying to make, etc.

These different practices help me stay on track while I’m chillin’ at home. I want to emphasize for everyone to stay safe, respect social distancing, and stay at home! Amidst all this chaos, we can still come together as a community. God is in control!
