Needless to say, New Student Welcome Night this year was a hit. It was definitely an answer to prayers, as we welcomed nearly 300 students at Kane Hall. One thing we did differently this year was to include displays about different topics related to the Gospel and Christianity. We had them set up in the foyer, and through it people were able to have conversations about spiritual topics and get engaged in answering tough questions.
Soon after we went inside to start the program, and the room was packed. A mix of our staff and students participated in putting on the night, playing roles in the Spoken Word piece, as well as being members of our band. So many of our other students were also there setting up, decorating, and welcoming people throughout the night. Pastor Andy gave a message inviting and challenging people to seriously explore their faith, and it was awesome to hear how people responded to that challenge, some even being willing to take him up on it!
Afterwards we moved to Mary Gates for a delicious dinner. It was a great way to cap off the night, with some good food and conversations.
NSWN is always a highlight and this one did not disappoint. Excited for what's to come during the quarter, hopefully many people will accept the invitation to have an open mind and investigate Christianity.
